Bank Kalbar Disburses KUR Loans Worth Rp141 Billion
Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Barat (Bank Kalbar) has been entrusted by the central government to disburse People’s Business Credit (KUR). According to Bank Kalbar’s President Director, Sudirman HMY, the bank has disbursed loans totaling Rp141 billion. “Last year, our allocation was only Rp120 billion. Alhamdulillah, we managed to disburse even more,” he said during a meeting with the West Kalimantan Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Kalbar) on Friday (27/1).
So far, the majority of these loans are performing well. The KUR loans are guaranteed by two insurance companies, Jamkrindo and Askrindo. If a loan defaults, the bank is allowed to file a claim to receive compensation from the insurer amounting to 75% of the loan’s nominal value, with the remaining 25% representing the bank’s risk. However, Bank Kalbar has never had to file a claim because the loan conditions have remained healthy. “We will continue to maintain our loans in a performing position,” he added.
The dominant economic sectors applying for KUR loans include trade, restaurants, hotels, and various business services. In addition to KUR, Sudirman mentioned that Bank Kalbar is also running a Micro Business Credit (KUM) program.
This KUM program consists of three schemes: KUM Peduli, KUM Sejahtera, and KUM Utama. “Under the Peduli scheme, you can get a loan of Rp5 million without collateral. Then, for those who have already started their businesses and show good performance, they can use the Sejahtera or Utama schemes, with loans of up to Rp50 million,” he explained. However, for the KUM Sejahtera or Utama schemes, the bank requires collateral. The maximum loan application amount can reach Rp500 million. According to Sudirman, the non-performing rate for microcredit at Bank Kalbar is very low, recorded at only 0.5%.
“The total is still minimal,” he said. This is due to the daily or weekly collection system. Under the daily system, bank officers visit the debtor’s business premises every day to collect payments. Similarly, under the weekly system, officers visit the business every week. “Our officers visit customers at markets – it depends on whether the collection is daily or weekly,” he explained.
Previously, Deputy Chair of Commission B, Syarif Izhar Assyuri Alaydrus, stated that the DPRD urges Bank Kalbar to become the vanguard in helping cooperatives and SMEs. Therefore, the DPRD consistently requests that the amount of productive credit disbursed by the bank be continuously increased so that it can be used by the community to develop their businesses. “At Bank Kalbar, consumer credit remains high. We request that productive credit be increased,” he said. To anticipate loan defaults, Izhar also suggested that Bank Kalbar provide socialization, training, or assistance to the community.
